Цілі:
практична: перевірити рівень засвоєння матеріалу з теми «Тварини»;
навчити учнів вживати загальні та спеціальні запитання у Present Simple Tense і відповідати на них;
розвиваюча: розвивати пам”ять, навички й уміння читання, письма; формувати
мовленнєву компетенцію учнів;
виховна: виховувати вміння працювати в парах; досягти максимальної
самореалізації кожного учня; виховувати прагнення до здобуття більшого обсягу
знань.
Обладнання: підручник «Access-1», дитячі малюнки
із зображенням тварин, флешкартки
«Тварини», роздатковий матеріал, аудіозапис пісень «Hickory Dickory Dock», «Bingo».
Procedure
1. Organization of the lesson
T:
Good morning, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you! How are you today? I see
that you are fine. Let’s start our work. Today we have a lot of things to do.
The topic of our lesson is “I Love Animals”. We’re going to review the names of
animals. We’ll speak about wild and domestic animals, your pets.
2. Warming-up
The poem “I love all kinds of animals” is written
on the blackboard. After each reading one word from each line must be
disappeared (or wiped) on the blackboard. At the end there is nothing on the
blackboard and pupils tell the poems by heart.
I love all kinds of animals
Dogs and cats and rabbits.
I love all kinds of animals
I know their little habits.
3. Vocabulary Revision
T: Are there
many different animals in the world?
P: Yes, there
are many different animals in the world.
T: What are
they?
P: There are
wild and domestic animals.
T: What wild animals
do you know?
P: I know such
wild animals as bears, foxes, tigers….
T: What
domestic animals do you know?
P: I know such
domestic animals as cows, hens, sheep….
T: What animals
can people keep as pets?
P: People can
keep cats, parrots, hamsters, dogs.
T: And what
about the mouse? Do you like such animal? Let’s sing the song the song about
the mouse.

Answers: 1) penguin, 2) leopard, 3) seahorse,

T: Next task is
to put the words under the correct heading.

4. Speaking
T: I know that
all of you like animals. Your home assignment was to describe your favourite
pet. Speak about them (pupils tell about their pets and stick their pictures of
the pets on the blackboard).
Pair Work
Pupils get the
cards with the animals and the prompts. Their task is to describe the animals
in pairs.
Suggested answers:
1). Wolves live in
the forest. They have got grey fur, strong legs, a black nose. They weigh about
45kg and they are 80cm tall. They eat meat. They live about 10 years.
2). Kangaroos live
in Australia .
They have got brown fur, a pouch, strong legs. They weigh about 90kg and they
are about 2m tall. They eat grass and plants. They live about 6 years.
3). Elephants live
in Africa . They are very big. They have got a
big body, a long nose, big ears. They weigh about 8000kg and they are 3.5m
tall. They eat plants, fruits, vegetables. They live about 60 years.
4). Zebras live in Africa . They are white and black. They weigh about 300kg
and they are about 1.20m tall. They eat grass and plants. They live about 12
years.
5). Monkeys live in
Africa . They have got thick fur, two hands,
two legs. They weigh about 50kg and they are 1.5m tall. They eat fruit, leaves,
insects. They live about 45 years.
6). Tigers live in Africa . They have got brown fur, strong legs and a long
tail. They weigh about 200kg and they are about 1m tall. They eat meat. They
live about 11 years.
5. Physical warm-up

7. Listening

you like cartoons about animals? Listen to their stories and guess what animal
it is. Match the number of the picture to the number of the text (the pictures of animals are on the blackboard
and stories are on the cards. Some pupils read the riddles and the others guess
them).

8. Game “Crazy Animals”
T:
Something is wrong with our animals. Let’s describe these crazy animals (Pupils work in groups. Each group get a picture and describe the
animal).
Answers:
1) It has got an elephant’s head, a
kangaroo’s body and a crocodile tail.
2)
It has got a giraffe’s head, a zebra’s body, a tiger’s tail.
9. Summing-up. Home Assignment
T: All of you
have worked very well. Thank you, pupils.
Draw
a favourite animal and write its short description.
