Тема: I Love Animals

Цілі:
практична: перевірити рівень засвоєння матеріалу з теми       «Тварини»; навчити     учнів вживати загальні та спеціальні запитання у Present Simple Tense і відповідати на них;
розвиваюча: розвивати пам”ять, навички й уміння читання, письма; формувати мовленнєву компетенцію учнів;
виховна: виховувати вміння працювати в парах; досягти максимальної самореалізації кожного учня; виховувати прагнення до здобуття більшого обсягу знань.
Обладнання: підручник «Access-1», дитячі малюнки із зображенням тварин, флешкартки  «Тварини», роздатковий матеріал, аудіозапис пісень «Hickory Dickory Dock», «Bingo».

Procedure
1. Organization of the lesson
T: Good morning, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you! How are you today? I see that you are fine. Let’s start our work. Today we have a lot of things to do. The topic of our lesson is “I Love Animals”. We’re going to review the names of animals. We’ll speak about wild and domestic animals, your pets.

 2. Warming-up
The poem “I love all kinds of animals” is written on the blackboard. After each reading one word from each line must be disappeared (or wiped) on the blackboard. At the end there is nothing on the blackboard and pupils tell the poems by heart.
I love all kinds of animals
Dogs and cats and rabbits.
I love all kinds of animals
I know their little habits.
3. Vocabulary Revision
T: Are there many different animals in the world?
P: Yes, there are many different animals in the world.
T: What are they?
P: There are wild and domestic animals.
T: What wild animals do you know?
P: I know such wild animals as bears, foxes, tigers….
T: What domestic animals do you know?
P: I know such domestic animals as cows, hens, sheep….
T: What animals can people keep as pets?
P: People can keep cats, parrots, hamsters, dogs.
T: And what about the mouse? Do you like such animal? Let’s sing the song the song about the mouse.

Pair Work
Pupils get the cards with the animals and the prompts. Their task is to describe the animals in pairs.

Suggested answers:
1). Wolves live in the forest. They have got grey fur, strong legs, a black nose. They weigh about 45kg and they are 80cm tall. They eat meat. They live about 10 years.
2). Kangaroos live in Australia. They have got brown fur, a pouch, strong legs. They weigh about 90kg and they are about 2m tall. They eat grass and plants. They live about 6 years.
3). Elephants live in Africa. They are very big. They have got a big body, a long nose, big ears. They weigh about 8000kg and they are 3.5m tall. They eat plants, fruits, vegetables. They live about 60 years.
4). Zebras live in Africa. They are white and black. They weigh about 300kg and they are about 1.20m tall. They eat grass and plants. They live about 12 years.
5). Monkeys live in Africa. They have got thick fur, two hands, two legs. They weigh about 50kg and they are 1.5m tall. They eat fruit, leaves, insects. They live about 45 years.
6). Tigers live in Africa. They have got brown fur, strong legs and a long tail. They weigh about 200kg and they are about 1m tall. They eat meat. They live about 11 years.

5. Physical warm-up
T: Now let’s have a rest and sing the song “Bingo”.

T: Read the text and answer the questions.

1. Introduction
T: Good morning, children! I’m glad to see you. Take your seats. Today we are having a special lesson. It’s a video lesson. The topic of our lesson is “What do you know about Britain”.

2. Warming-up
T: We study English and I am sure that all of you would like to visit Great Britain. Am I right? You have already learned much about Great Britain and today we are going to talk about geography, climate of Britain. We will talk about languages which are spoken in the country and the types of the houses, and of course politics. Now, let’s do this quiz and see what we know about Britain.

Introduction. Contemporary Britain is a mixture of the traditional and the new. It still has a royal family, people still eat fish and chips, and there are still pretty villages with old-fashioned pubs. At the same time, it's a growing multi-ethnic and multicultural society developing in many fields - the arts, architecture, science, education, finance and politics. Geography. The landscape of Britain is incredibly varied. There are beautiful beaches in the south of England. The south and east are mainly flat and low lying. As we travel north, the scenery becomes more dramatic. Wales offers perfect Locations for castles. There are spectacular rivers, hills and valleys in the Lake District. And further north, Scotland has magnificent mountains, coastlines and islands.
Climate. Of course, the weather isn't always perfect. Although Britain often has grey skies and rain, it has a mild climate. However, extreme weather does happen sometimes ...
The UK. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland make up the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. People usually refer to it as the UK or simply Britain.
With a population of 59 million, Britain has the third largest population in Europe. Belfast is the capital city of Northern Ireland. It grew up in the nineteenth century during Britain's industrial revolution. It's a city of grand buildings and interesting monuments. Cardiff is the capital city of Wales. It's a modern city that takes pride in its historic traditions. The capital of Scotland, Edinburgh, is on the same latitude as Moscow. It's a beautiful city which is rich in history. London, the capital city of Britain, has a population of nearly seven and a quarter million - which makes it the largest city in Europe.

Politics. London is also the centre of government. There are two Houses of Parliament, the House of Commons, with elected MPs, or Members of Parliament, and the House of Lords, which is non-elected. There are three main political parties: Labour, the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats. The head of state, Queen Elizabeth II, has a largely ceremonial role. In 1999, the Labour government moved some political power away from London. There is now a Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh and National Assemblies for Northern Ireland - in Belfast, and for Wales - in Cardiff.
At home. The majority of British people live in houses. Incredibly, one in three homes is semi-detached. The British are famous for their love of gardens, which perhaps explains why only 20% of families live in flats. The average family size in Britain is getting smaller with only 2.4 people per property. In fact, 30% of all homes only have one occupant.
Languages.  English, of course, is the main Language in the UK, but there are other native Languages. About 20% of the population of Wales speak Welsh. Gaelic is spoken in Northern Ireland and Scotland.
Travel. Britain has been politically joined to Europe since it joined the European Union in 1973. And it's been physically joined to the Continent since 1994 by the Channel Tunnel. At just over 50 kms long, the Channel Tunnel takes passengers from Waterloo Station in London to Paris, Brussels and Lille. Britain is a major centre for international travel. Heathrow is the world's busiest international airport with over 60 million passengers a year. Other major airports around London are Gatwick and Stansted, which are important for the budget airlines. And London, like so much of Britain, is always on the move.
